Median home sales prices declined once again last month in Seattle, while in Tacoma home values increased by thousands of dollars over the same time last year, according to a new survey released Thursday.
The survey, by real estate brokerage site Redfin, found that the July median home sales price in the Seattle area was $565,000 - or 1.7 percent less than at the same time last year. The survey also found that the July median home price in the Seattle area was 2.6 percent lower than it was in June - an average drop of about $14,000 per home in one month.
Meanwhile, in Tacoma, it was a totally different story.
The average July home sales price there was $375,000 - more than $20,000 above the average at the same time last year, for an increase of 5.6 percent.
