New listings and pending home sales dropped significantly in March due to the coronavirus pandemic, but new data shows the housing market may be back on the upswing.
Home sales in the United States dropped considerably during the second half of March as the coronavirus pandemic hit hard, but according to a new Zillow Real Estate Market Report, sales have begun to rebound in recent weeks.
Across the country, new listings were up 14% at the beginning of March, but that quickly slowed to a trickle until last Friday, when new listings were down 43.8% year over year, according to the report. But over the weekend, new listings began to trend upward again and were only down 37.7% year over year by April 19, the report said.
